My corner of Chelsea … a London garden in Yorkshire

Posted on 24th July 2015

Having just moved to Yorkshire from the bright lights of London and sophisticated formality of Chelsea, our client’s request was to create a low maintenance garden which reflected not only the modern, clean, crisp look of the interior, but also provided an outside room for their children to play safely.

The modern, bright white plastic outdoor sofas give a lounge like feel, while the simple geometry of the Buxus topiary spheres are calming, chic and fun.  The perfectly spaced plants and formal lines in this space make for a calm, green oasis in a busy urban location.

“Until we met Lee, we didn’t think people like him existed outside of London”

The simple planting scheme changes with the season, and the stilted hedging provides much need privacy from the neighbouring properties.  Outdoor speakers and mood lighting (which are controlled from the latest i phone device) transform the garden in the evening to the perfect entertaining space.

Under balcony storage provides a home for the children’s toys and a hidden playhouse provides the perfect boys hideout (for sons and father!).
